Getting Through the Hard Stuff

“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:19‬ ‭NIV‬‬

The Lord gives us an abundance of everything we need to face whatever we have going on in this moment. Rather than only praying to be protected from hardship (which is ok to pray too), we should also pray for the Lord to have His way with us- whatever that entails- because it is sometimes through hardship that we grow closer to Him in ways we otherwise couldn’t. That is not an easy thing to pray- “Lord, not my will, but Yours.” Our Savior prayed this when facing the hardship of the cross. In facing trying times, the Lord can reveal himself to us in very personal ways. We can know all about his character by reading about it, but when we need him to actually BE those things for us, it takes us deeper. I know He is My Comforter, My Shield, My Healer, Prince of Peace, Perfect Love, Wonderful Counselor, etc. But once I EXPERIENCE Him in these roles in my life, I know Him personally and see His faithfulness to me. We actually see Him do it, and we then KNOW Him more intimately and go deeper in our walk with Him than ever before.
