Taste and See

Updated: Oct 30, 2021

“Taste and see that the Lord is good; blessed is the one who takes refuge in him.”

‭‭Psalms‬ ‭34:8‬ ‭NIV‬‬

“Taste”: to personally experience something that conveys its character.

“See”: to understand/know something that you could not know while your eyes were blind/closed.... now your eyes are open to “see” and “take it in”.

What are we to experience and take in? The Goodness of God. His faithfulness. His never-ending and all-consuming love for us which never changes despite our actions/behavior/choices/failures. He is always faithful and always loving.

We are blessed when we take refuge in Him. A “refuge” is a condition of being safe or sheltered from pursuit, danger or trouble. When we trust Him with our everything, we are blessed with His Peace and Presence to shield us from the storms in life. Even when we are physically in trials, our soul can be at peace in His shelter. His Peace transcends understanding.

“And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.”

‭‭Philippians‬ ‭4:7‬ ‭NIV‬‬

Lord, Help me to have eyes wide open to see and experience Your goodness in my life. I want to taste and see You, Lord!
